Orc Boar Riders, Old and Very Old

A couple of early generations of Citadel Orc Boar Riders this week.

The first group are, I think, the original Orc Boar Riders from back in the day. They're all metal, and the fit of the rider to the boar is at the whim of the Orc Gods. If I ever get around to using them on a regular basis I'll need to glue them to the boars.

The next group are still pretty old - late 1990s, early 2000s at best. The boars had become plastic by this time, although the riders were still metal. The fit of the rider to the boar is much better, and they actually stay on most of the time.

There is also a standard bearer figure. However, although he's painted, he doesn't have a standard. To make fitting the standard easier, I left him on his slottabase, which means he won't fit on a boar just now. Note to self: These have been painted for over ten years, so I'm not sure he's ever getting a standard...

There is quite a size difference between the two incarnations. They can't be mixed in the same unit, but having both units on the table at the same time shouldn't prove to be an issue.

By the time I'd finished the last of the new ones I was heartily sick and tired of painting them and swore there would be no more. Given my general disillusionment with Games Workshop over the last few years, this hasn't been a problem.
